Egg Donation with Frozen Eggs from an Egg Bank
Here at the Center for Advanced Reproductive Medicine & Fertility, we understand that the process of
egg donation can be a challenging one to most patients. Given that infertility itself is often physically,
emotionally, and financially stressful in general, there now emerges the added stress of choosing an
egg donor that satisfies your requirements. With this in mind, we are happy to provide our patients
with the widest array of opportunities and choices that enable them to comfortably and confidently
select the most appropriate option that fits all of their needs and desires. As a result, in addition to the
alternatives of known and anonymous (from our pool of donors or from an outside agency) egg donors,
The Center now also has a program of egg donation utilizing eggs from various frozen donor egg
banks. This option offers certain advantages including ready availability of eggs, convenience, and
generally lower costs to patients.
Guidelines for the Use of Frozen Donor Eggs
Prior to deciding on the use of frozen donor eggs, you should meet with your doctor to discuss if this is
a good treatment option for you, as well as with our financial administrator Renee to review the
insurance issues and potential costs involved. Should you then wish to proceed with this option, our
Center only works with FDA (The Food and Drug Administration) licensed egg banks for patients
wishing to purchase frozen donor eggs. The patient should review the guidelines and available donors
on the egg bank’s website, and then contact the bank to arrange for the purchase and transport of these
eggs to our Center. Often this will simply involve you informing the bank of your intentions and that
you are a patient here at the Center for Advanced Reproductive Medicine & Fertility, and they will
then coordinate with our embryologists for the transportation of your eggs to our Center.
Currently, The Center accepts frozen donor eggs from My Egg Bank, the Frozen Donor Egg Bank of
Reproductive Biology Associates (RBA) in Atlanta, Georgia. Their contact information is:
