Terminology absorption/infusion: two passive actions that occur when the believer enters the sphere of the Spirit; furthermore, these are two passive actions by which the believer and the Holy Spirit become one with each other so as to make the believer’s applications of truth acceptable to the absolute righteousness of God the Father; the Holy Spirit is absorbed by the believer; the believer is infused with the Holy Spirit. (inductive conclusion) abstract: Something that actually exists, but is imperceptible to sight, hearing, feeling, smelling, or taste. alertness: The mental state consciously entered that prepares the mind to be on the lookout for circumstances of life that trigger old-man strategies imbedded on the soul’s subconscious launching platform. Alertness precedes awareness. automatic: the term used to describe the nature of an application of a habituated strategy. auto-pilot: the condition of life wherein the believer is oblivious to the next circumstance of life, just rolling with the punches of life as they come; functioning in life minus the virtues of alertness and awareness; this is the “hey, man, what’s happenin’” mentality. awareness: The mental condition that recognizes a circumstance of life that triggers an old-man strategy embedded on the soul’s subconscious launching platform. Awareness results from alertness. By definition, awareness does not occur until the circumstance of life that triggers an old-man strategy has been recognized. Until a circumstance has been recognized, the mind remains in a state of alertness. blessing-in-time and reward-in-eternity: the result of function in the previously listed six terms. (Ephesians 1:3; 1 Corinthians 3:14) clothes closets: The term used to describe that portion of the soul’s spiritual heart that stores vocabulary, categorized doctrines, and data that forms norms and standards. clothes closets: The term used to describe that portion of the soul’s spiritual heart that stores vocabulary, categorized doctrines, and data that forms norms and standards. clothing: The term used to describe an old-man belief or a new-man belief. This word is synonymous with strategy whether an old-man strategy or a new-man strategy. confession of sin (rebound): the solution for sin committed after one is saved. (1 John 1:9) conscious launching platform: The location in the soul from which an unhabituated new-man strategy is applied to a life situation by means of a conscious and deliberate decision. conscious launching platform: The location in the soul from which an unhabituated new-man strategy is applied to a life situation by means of a conscious and deliberate decision. 1 Terminology control: the word “control” is often used to describe the power of the sinful nature or the power of the Holy Spirit or the power (you name it) to control the believer’s soul. In this sense, the word “control” should be eliminated from our Christian vocabulary. It is the neutral-man that controls the soul of every human being, including the soul of every believer. This means that every born-again Christian is in control of his or her own life and is responsible for every decision made, good or bad. ear gate: the gate through which information is heard as it enters the soul’s frame of reference. escrow blessings: Blessings provided by God the Father in eternity past to be distributed during the lifetime of the believer who has met the condition(s) to receive the distribution. escrow rewards: Rewards provided by God the Father in eternity past to be distributed at the bema seat judgment to the believer who has met the condition(s) to receive the distribution. eternal life: that form of life that a person possesses for having placed his/her faith-alone in Christ-alone; the word eternal is a time-word indicting the length of time for which someone possesses spiritual salvation for placing his/her faith-alone in Christ-alone. eye gate: the gate through which information is seen as it enters the soul’s frame of reference. frame of reference: the initial staging area of the human soul where information is first received into the human soul; synonymous with reference center. function from the new-man: the means by which the believer carries out the Christian way of life. (Colossians 3:10) habituated: The resultant condition of having made a sufficient number of conscious applications of a particular strategy from the conscious launching platform so that all future applications are made subconsciously, that is, without thought from the subconscious platform. influence: When the neutral-man yields the intrinsically neutral soul to the body’s sinful nature, it is said that the intrinsically neutral soul is being influenced by the sinful nature. When the neutral-man yields the intrinsically neutral soul to the Holy Spirit, it is said that the intrinsically neutral soul is being influenced by the Holy Spirit. If the body’s sinful nature controlled your soul, how could you ever produce divine good? If the Holy Spirit controlled your soul, why are you still producing personal sins and human good? infusion/absorption: (see absorption/infusion) launching center: That location in the soul’s heart that contains two launching platforms, a conscious launching platform and a subconscious launching platform, from which platforms strategies are applied to life’s situations. By analogy, the launching center is “Cape Canaveral” within the boundaries of which specific launching platforms are located. 2 Terminology launching pad: Synonymous with launching platform. launching platform: The general location in the soul’s heart from which strategies are applied to life’s situations; either the conscious launching platform or the subconscious launching platform. logical order: logical order is distinguished from chronological order; chronological order implies a time lapse between each step; logical order implies that several steps can occur simultaneously while recognizing that there is a distinct order to those steps, meaning one step must logically occur before another. neutral man: An abstract personification of the “person” who is the “Director” of the intrinsically neutral soul. neutral: The intrinsic nature of the human soul; neither sinful nor spiritual; neither yielded to the body’s sinful nature nor yielded to the Holy Spirit. neutral-man characteristics: Neutral self-consciousness, neutral volition, neutral mentality, neutral emotion, neutral conscience. new-man characteristics: Christ-centered self-consciousness, Christ-centered volition, Christcentered mentality, Christ-centered emotion, Christ-centered conscience. new-man: An abstract personification of the intrinsically neutral soul under the influence of the Holy Spirit who resides in the human spirit. obedience/true obedience: “Obedience” occurs when the believer applies the principles, promises, and doctrines, techniques, and rules for living, but does so from the source of the oldman. “True obedience” occurs when the believer applies the principles, promises, and doctrines, techniques, and rules for living, but does so from the source of the new-man. old-man characteristics: Self-centered self-consciousness, self-centered volition, self-centered mentality, self-centered emotion, self-centered conscience. old-man: An abstract personification of the intrinsically neutral soul under the influence of the human body’s sinful nature. Operation KR1R2Y: the means by which the believer enters the sphere of the Spirit; Know, Reckon1, Reckon2, Yield. (Romans 6:6, 11, 13 KJV) organic connection: oneness; the result of absorption/infusion; the believer is organically connected to Christ at the moment of salvation; the believer is organically connected to the sinful nature when the neutral-man yields to the sinful nature; the believer is organically connected to the Holy Spirit when the neutral-man yields to the Holy Spirit. 3 Terminology personification: An abstraction represented as having personality, that is, as though the abstraction were able to think, feel, speak, act, or reason. Personification treats an abstraction as though it was a real person; the terms old-man, neutral-man, and new-man are abstract personifications. process of habituation: This is an important concept. The preposition “of” should be understood as “leading to” habituation. When a strategy is in the process leading to habituation, the implication is that the strategy being habituated has not yet been habituated; until a strategy has been habituated it is important to understand that the process of habituation occurs only on the conscious launching platform; until a strategy has been habituated, it is totally divorced from the subconscious launching platform. reaction/response: “Reaction” is the term used to denote an application of an old-man strategy from the source of the old-man from the subconscious launching platform. “Response” is the term used to denote an application of a new-man strategy from the source of the new-man from the subconscious launching platform. reference center: synonymous with frame of reference. religion: the worship practice of any human being when the worshipper is trying to please his/her “god” by performing some for of work from the sphere of the flesh; in this sense, a Christian can do the same thing; man-by-man’s-effort attempting to please whatever form of “god” he/she is worshipping. right thing: The term used to designate a divinely decreed principle, promise, doctrine, technique, or rule for living. right way: The term used to describe the application of a pertinent right thing from the source of the new-man. solution: Synonymous with the words clothing, strategy, belief; may be an old-man or new-man solution. soul’s heart: That part of the soul’s mentality that contains both the old-man and new-man clothes closets and the launching center. sphere of the Spirit: the sphere within which the Christian way of life is carried out (Ephesians 5:18) spiritual: the most basic term used to indicate a relationship with the Holy Spirit; you are because the Holy Spirit takes up residence in your human spirit at the moment of spiritual salvation; in this sense, the opposite of spiritual is natural; spiritual indicates salvation; natural indicates lost as an unbeliever. 4 Terminology spiritual believer: this term is the opposite of “carnal believer”; this term is applied to the Christian who is operating in the sphere of the Spirit from the source of the new-man; the spiritual condition of the Christian’s life is spirituality; spiritual life: a person is said to have spiritual life because he/she is saved; eternal life and spiritual life are two sides of the same coin; you can have spiritual life and not be a spiritual believer, but you cannot be a spiritual believer without spiritual life. spiritual salvation: divine deliverance from hell and the lake of fire, the result of believing the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, that is, believing in the One who died, was buried, and resurrected on the third day. (Acts 16:31) spirituality: this is the condition of the spiritual believer; it is the opposite of carnality. strategy: Synonymous with clothing, solution, belief. subconscious launching platform: The location in the soul’s heart from which either an oldman or new-man habituated strategy is applied to a life situation. tactile gate: the gate through which information enters the soul’s frame of reference when communicating with a deaf-blind person. wrong thing: The term used to designate even the slightest distortion of a divinely decreed principle, promise, doctrine, technique, or rule for living; also referred to as an “evil principle” because it is a distortion of truth. wrong way: The term used to describe the application of any strategy from the source of the oldman. yielded: the term used to indicate the means by which either the body’s sinful nature or the Holy Spirit influences the intrinsically neutral-man. 5 Terminology The following terms explain what constitutes the spiritual side of the Christian way of life. If even one of the first six terms is not functioning in a person’s life who is practicing Christianity, the result is Christianity as a religion rather than Christianity as a spiritual way of life. God the Father blesses and rewards only that which is spiritual. The larger part of those who call themselves Christians today are practicing Christianity as a religion. It is Christianity as a spiritual way of life that is associated with the resolution of the angelic conflict for which purpose man was created. Christianity as a religion resolves nothing of importance to God the Father. Spiritual salvation is the first step toward living on the spiritual side of Christianity. After salvation, up-to-date confession of post-salvation sin is necessary. Then, “Operation KR1R2Y” must occur and in proper sequence: first K then R1 then R2 then Y. When “Y” occurs, the believer enters the sphere of the Spirit. Upon entering the sphere of the Spirit, the principles of absorption and infusion immediately occur. The believer’s new-man then makes pertinent application of truth to the relevant life situation. THIS IS THE SPIRITUAL CHRISTIAN WAY OF LIFE; all else is Christian religion which is repugnant to the absolute righteousness of God. 6
