WWII Pacific Fighting
a) Pearl Harbor  Dec.7th, 1941
b) Bataan Death March  Japanese forces attack and outnumber American
troops near Manila in the Philippines. 75,000 troops surrendered and were forced
to march over sixty miles. 7,000 American & Filipino’s died in March of 1942.
c) Doolittle Raid  Colonel Doolittle of U.S. and troops bomb Japanese capital
of Tokoyo in April of 1942.
d) Battle of Coral  Provided hope, as American planes attacked Japanese ships
and Japanese planes attacked American ships. American victory, as Japan called
off attack on New Guinea. (May, 1942)
