December 15 – Tuesday: Advent Weekday
Dear Friends,
The third principle of peace is that realities are more important than
ideas.
Pope Francis calls ideas words and he calls reality action. House is a
word. The home you live in is a reality. Dog is a word. Your pet dog is
a reality. Banana is a word. The banana you eat is a reality. Song is a
word. Singing is an action, a reality. You can make many examples.
Catechesis can be just words.
words are saints.
Those who put into practice these
Reflect on this statement. Jesus is the Word of God made flesh.
The act of faith we say at Mass, the Creed, states that Jesus was
incarnate of the Virgin Mary.
December 16 – Wednesday: Advent Weekday
We must think about what the Pope is teaching. He is teaching that
words need to become realities. Jesus Christ, the Word of God, was
born of the Virgin Mary. He became man.

We extend our sympathy to the families, relatives and friends of our
recently departed. May our Lord grant them everlasting life.
In every mass the priest says the words of Jesus, my peace I give you.
We share a sign of peace.
Perhaps this Advent we can make peace a reality and not leave it as
just a word.
Las realidades son importantes que las ideas
Queridos amigos,

SCRIPTURE REFLECTIONS: After reflecting on today’s
Scripture readings, consider how you would answer the following
questions:
1.
2.
3.
When has fear or dread kept you from doing something you
needed to do? How might fear be limiting you now?
God is near: Good news? Bad news? Does it make any
difference at all to you this year?
When did you first feel compelled by your faith to do more
than go to church? What does being a Christian mean for you
today?

NEEDED, SPONSORS FOR CHRISTMAS!
We are looking for Parish families or local Businesses that would
like to be “CHRISTMAS SPONSORS” for one of our families who
might not be able to celebrate Christmas with full holiday joy and
happiness (because the head of household has lost their job or
because there isn’t enough money or because of illness). We are
receiving calls for help with Christmas gifts for children who live in
our Church boundaries. PLEASE call Holy Rosary’s St. Vincent de
Paul (433-4312) on Tuesday or Wednesday from 10am to 12pm or
call the Church Office (433-3241) to leave your name and phone
number and we will give it to SVDP.
