Ingram, Tx Nursing Education Consultants Course Policies Attendance Policy: No grade penalty is given for missed time, however, be fully aware of the attendance policy for the program. It is the responsibility of the student to get notes from peers when class-time is missed. Student Evaluation/ Grading Policies: Refer to the LPN Handbook for the grading scale for this program. In this particular class all work carries the same weight. I feel that all my assignments are equally valuable and, so, are graded equally. You should put the same effort into a homework assignment that you put into a test. Examination Policy: There will be one or more tests for each unit covered. All tests will be computerized and will be done on the Quia site. The advantage to this is that you will have immediate feedback. In addition, the NCLEX exam is computerized, therefore this format will be very familiar to you when you take the NCLEX exam, thus relieving one frustration. Make-up exams will cover the same material but will be a different style, including short answer, fill-in-the-blanks, essay, etc. Do not expect the same exam as those who were present on the day of the exam. Because of schedule changes that are inevitable it is not possible to predict the date of each exam. You will have ample time to prepare and should use a little time each evening to study your notes in preparation for any exam. Expectations of Students: It is my expectation that you take every class seriously. There are policies in the LPN handbook about sleeping in class, cell phones and texting in class, and various other activities that are seen as distractions, however, my theory is you get out of it what you put into it. I will be less inclined to meet with you for review if I’ve noted you have not been attentive in class, no matter what the reason. You are expected to follow the rules set forth in the LPN handbook. Assignments/ Presentations: Details on the following will be given at a later date.
