Guiding Question:
How is your United States Region similar to and different from the other regions?
Directions: Using your textbook, the Internet, and any other resources in the classroom or
library, find the answers to the following research questions: Write your answers in your Big
6 Research Folder MAKE SURE YOU WRITE DOWN WHAT RESOURCES YOU USED so you will
be able to complete the Bibliography requirement.
STEP 1:
RESEARCH THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR ASSIGNED UNITED
STATES REGION AND WRITE YOUR ANSWERS IN YOUR BIG 6 RESEARCH FOLDER.
LOCATION
1. What is the name of your region and what is its Relative Location (what
countries, bodies of water, and/or other U.S. regions border it to the North,
South, East, and West?
2. Describe the Absolute Location of your region by answering:
a. What is the Northernmost Latitude?
b. What is the Southernmost Latitude?
c. What is the Easternmost Longitude?
d. What is the Westernmost Longitude?

1. Describe the major physical features and bodies of water in your region.
2. What states are located within your region?
3. Describe at least three major cities within your region?
4. Describe the Climate of your region.
5. What are the Natural Resources in your region?
STEP 2:
USE THE BIG 6 PROCESS TO COLLABORATIVELY CREATE A GROUP POSTER THAT
HIGHLIGHTS YOUR UNITED STATES REGION.
