Paediatric Caseload Management Workshops 9, 10th and 11th October, 2013 Dublin TBC Applications now open. Applications close 22nd September, 2013 at 5pm. 2nd, 3rd and 4th December, Waterford Applications now open. Applications 2013 CRC close Monday 14th October, 2013 at 5pm. AOTI are delighted to announce Caseload Management workshops for Occupational Therapy teams working in Paediatric Services. The workshops are HSE funded and are three full days. The workshops will be delivered by Karin Bishop and Sharon Tuppeny from the College of Occupational Therapists in the UK. The workshop will only be held twice. The two locations are Dublin and Waterford. The Facilitators Karin Bishop and Sharon Tuppeny are highly experienced occupational therapists specializing in children’s services. Karin Bishop has worked at the College of Occupational Therapists (COT) since 2001 as the COT Consultancy Service Manager. This requires project managing service reviews and projects for clients, within the health, social care and private sectors, and facilitating training for services and BAOT members. Since August 2012 Karin has been carrying out an additional role as Interim Head of Professional Practice. Her clinical and managerial experience was gained working in various roles including Regional Specialist and Head of Service at the Newcomen Centre, Guy’s Hospital London. Sharon Tuppeny is currently working as an independent occupational therapy consultant on a number of projects including the commissioning of children’s occupational therapy services, supervision for a paediatric service and development of resources for children’s occupational therapists for COT. Sharon was the Professional Affairs Officer for Children Young People and Families at COT, a role which involved promoting children’s occupational therapy at a national level and supporting occupational therapists in their practice. Her clinical and managerial experience was gained in a number of roles including managing Children's Therapy Services for City and Hackney PCT. Karin and Sharon has also been closely involved in the work of the Specialist Section for Children Young People and Families in the UK and are committed to ensuring that occupational therapists have the tools and knowledge to enable them to deliver modern and effective services. Workshop Aims For therapists to; have a better understanding of caseload management and service improvement. work with their team and develop strategies which can be used to manage caseload in their own paediatric OT services. develop with their team, practical action plans they can implement to address caseload and service challenges. be equipped with knowledge and skills to manage caseloads more effectively. Team Applications from OTs & their OT colleagues are encouraged and will be given priority The workshop is for OTs working in community based Paediatric Services OTs of any grade can apply such as staff grade, seniors or managers. As noted, applications from teams of OTs are encouraged. Members and non members of AOTI can apply How to Apply? Late or incomplete applications may not be accepted. Successful applicants will be notified that they have a place at the workshop. A non refundable booking fee of €20 must then be forwarded to the AOTI office to secure your place at the workshop.
