FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Meek’s is named the Primary Building Materials Provider for Extreme Makeover:
Home Edition’s Upcoming Project in Southwest Missouri
Meek’s Lumber Company announced that it will be the primary building materials company involved in ABC's "Extreme
Makeover: Home Edition" July project in Southwest Missouri. As a sponsor, Meek’s will be involved in the show’s oneweek-construction of a new home for a Southwest Missouri family yet to be revealed.
Charlie Meek, General Manager of Meek’s, had this to say: “The quality of life and lower cost of living in Southwest
Missouri are favorable conditions for Extreme Home Makeover to do wonders with its home construction. I’m excited the
Ozarks is receiving the national spotlight on this great community event.”
It was Sam Clifton, owner of Millstone Custom Homes, who invited Meek’s to participate in the venture. With Millstone
Custom Homes responsible for building the family’s new residence, Clifton requested Meek’s be his primary supplier of
the building materials he would need to complete the project.
Clifton learned his trade by simultaneously earning a Construction Management degree from Missouri State University and
working as a second-generation homebuilder for his father’s construction company. Known for building distinctive, custom
quality homes, the award-winning Clifton has a motto, “If you can imagine it, Sam can build it.” And with Millstone
Custom Homes being a longtime customer of Meek’s, the lumber company has been part of many dreams come to life.
Not least of which being Camp Barnabas, another Extreme Home Makeover project Meek’s supplied materials for during
fall of 2005. Located in Purdy, Missouri, Meek’s joined with the show its first time to help remodel the camp for disabled
children, and provide a new home on the grounds for the family managing it. Rick McKie, Marketing Director for Meek’s
Lumber Co., shared his thoughts:
“Meek’s is thrilled to again be working with Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. It’s truly an honor to be a key part of an
effort that not only builds a new home and life for a family, but also builds charity and cohesion among the rallying
members of this community.”
