FUR BALL 2015
FACT SHEET
The 17th Annual Richmond SPCA Fur Ball is scheduled for Saturday, November 7, 2015 at the historic
Jefferson Hotel. The event draws about 450 of Richmond’s most devoted animal lovers and includes a
cocktail reception with silent auction, a parade of pets down the Grand Staircase, dinner, raffle, live auction
and more! The event is pet-friendly, and pet escorts are available to entertain the four-legged guests while
their humans enjoy the evening’s festivities.
The Fur Ball has been voted Best Annual Benefit Gala by the readers of Style Weekly for four years in a
row! Fur Ball was also recently chosen by the readers of Virginia Living Magazine as the Most Creative
Charitable Event in Central Virginia and as one of the Top Three Charity Events in Central Virginia in
2014. The Richmond SPCA was also recently named by the readers of Richmond Magazine as the
nonprofit that hosts the best events! For more information, please visit www.richmondspca.org/furball.
About the Cinderella Fund
Money raised through the Fur Ball benefits the Richmond SPCA’s Cinderella Fund, a pool of resources from
which the organization draws to treat the sick, injured, and neonatal homeless animals who come into its
care each year. Annually, more than 2,900 cats, dogs, kittens, and puppies benefit from the lifesaving care
made possible by this crucial fund.
This year, the Richmond SPCA’s Veterinary Services team will diagnose and treat, at times with the help of
specialists, a variety of conditions including:

and the very common shelter conditions that result from internal and external parasites, poor prior
nutrition, anxiety disorders, poor immunity and general neglect.
In addition, your support makes possible efforts to save the lives of more than 1,300 infant kittens and
puppies requiring around-the-clock care and feeding by dedicated, well-trained foster care volunteers.
About the Richmond SPCA
The Richmond SPCA, founded in 1891, is a no-kill humane society dedicated to the principle that every life
