First, on Jan.13.2013.in National Gallery of Art, there
is a retrospective in memory of Roy Lichtenstein, one of
the most influential artists in Pop art .In this traveling
exhibition, those significant works of art of Roy
Lichtenstein will be showed without detainment.
Second, about Roy Lichtenstein, he is an important

when electronic technology develop and the popular
trend in that time.
Third, the fascination of Roy Lichtenstein is close-up
images of lovelorn affection of young woman, the
Vietnam War, and more important history events in his
opinion. Even the last series he finished before death, he
painted China’s Song dynasty.
The thing I learned in this art review is complete

Although the form of Roy Lichtenstein looks simple,
cartoonlike, and interesting in his paintings, I experience

The point interested me a lot is “Landscapes in the
Chinese Style” Roy Lichtenstein’s final series. I feel
surprised at the motivation of creating adapted from
China’s Song dynasty. After reading more details, Roy
Lichtenstein said he painted because he was impressive
about China’s Song dynasty when he was in art school.
The other thing makes me interested is Lichtenstein
was once inspired by Matisse and Picasso. I think it is the
reason why the paintings are so colorful.
