Isaiah 40 Ministries ‘Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God’ (Isaiah 40:1) Isaiah40ministries.com Mission & Courage (2015): Joshua 1 Greetings in the Name Above all names, Yeshua/ Jesus, As the Day of our Lord’s coming moves closer, we are being continually challenged in our walk and positions in the Body of Messiah. We are in much need of Grace and Courage, and I was drawn to Proverbs 24:10-12: “If you slack off on a day of distress, your strength is small indeed. Yes, rescue those being dragged off to death—won’t you save those about to be killed? If you say, “we knew nothing about it”, won’t He who weighs hearts discern it? Yes, He who guards you will know it and repay each one as his deeds deserve.” Sometimes evil is done as a result of cowardice. Revelation 21:8 says, “But as for the cowardly, the untrustworthy, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those involved with the occult and with drugs, idol worshippers, and all liars-their destiny is the lake burning with fire and sulfur, the second death. There is a terrible evil rooted in cowardice. The kind of cowardice that is willing to save one’s own skin at the expense of the slaughter of many is a grievous sin. The cowardice that will deny Yeshua/Jesus is also a heinous sin. Our faith gives us courage in the face of the most profound moral choices. The “restrainer” lives in us, the Holy Spirit, the Ruach ha Kodesh and so we expose evil, lies and all things that are not Biblically aligned…no wonder we are called the haters. Our lives and “it is written” is a constant reminder that darkness cannot Page 2 hide from the Light nor stand before the Majestic Judge in Heaven. I think of the beheadings of the Christians. I thought of Jesus who laid down His life for us, and brings His COURAGE into our hearts by His indwelling. Also, in times of terrible challenge, those who respond with courage are often people of no great attainment or success according to worldly standards. They are often the meek and humble people like the Ten Boom family of the Holocaust. To sum it up, the moral character of people is often not revealed until a time of testing and trial. The battle of Cowardice vs. Courage rages in these perilous times, and where do we STAND today. In Joshua chapter 1 ‘be strong and courageous’ articulates God’s will, and it is, HIS word. SELAH AND GET READY.
