Piso LESSON PLAN Level: Advanced 1 Warm up Materials Day #: 6 Duration Observations Snake game: brainstorm occupation vocab for unit Whiteboard and markers 15 minutes Ss stand in a circle, T starts off explaining the rules and category. T says an occupation and S1 must say another with the same 1st letter as the last letter in T’s word. S2 must do the same with the last letter in S1’s word. T keeps track of jobs on the board. Activities Materials Duration Observations 30 minutes T asks Ss to read types and jobs so group can hear. T lists personality types on the board in 6 columns. Elicit other jobs that fit under those types. Ask Ss to come up to board and line up in front of type they most identify with. As Ss go back to seats ask them to identify a job in the category they would want to do. Snapshot pg 8: learn new vocab about jobs and personality types Book pg 8, whiteboard and markers Pro/Con worksheet 30 minutes Identifying gerunds: introduce topic, see gerunds Book pgs 8, white in context board and markers 20 minutes Ask Ss to read worksheet and elicit questions about understanding. In pairs, ask Ss to debate the personality types and career choices in the Snapshot. Elicit information about gerunds from the class, writing some on the board and asking Ss to identify patterns. On pg 8, perspectives ask Ss to underline the gerunds in the conversations. Elicit more gerunds.
