• Slope is used to determine if lines or sides of a figure
are parallel, perpendicular, or just intersecting.
• Parallel lines have EQUAL slope!!
– Ex:
• Perpendicular lines have NEGATIVE RECIPROCAL
slope.
– Ex:
• If the slopes are neither equal nor negative
reciprocals of each other then the lines are just
intersecting.
– Ex:
