FUNDAMENTALS OF DC/AC CIRCUITS
COURSE DESCRIPTION
EET 1033C Fundamentals of DC/AC Circuits (3) (A.S.). Prerequisite: CGS 1000. This course examines
principles of direct and alternating current circuits, Ohm's Law, energy and power, Kirchhoff’s Law,
inductance, capacitance, resistance and impedance. Emphasis is placed on the application of these
concepts in industry. Additional special fee is required.
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
The student, at successful completion of EET 1033C, will be able to:

Define electricity and give an application.
Describe the two types of electrical current and give applications.
Describe the function of the basic components of an electrical circuit.
Describe the function of manual switch operators.
Connect and operate an electrical circuit with various output devices.
Define voltage, current, resistance, inductance and capacitance.
Explain Ohms' Law and give an application.
State Kirchhoff’s Voltage Law and give an application.
Define a series-parallel circuit.
Describe the function of a transformer and give an application.
