 Running with the POSE® method
The POSE® method was developed by the
Russian sport scientist and internationally
acknowledged, dual Olympic coach
Dr. Nicholas Romanov. POSE® is for faster,
more efficient and less injury prone running
for anyone over any distance from iron man
tri-athletes to recreational runners.
What is POSE®
We were born to run and so much more.
With the POSE® method it is possible to relearn the natural movement form through a
method that has been used internationally
with success since 1977.
POSE® is
effectively a franchise. Certified coaches are
exposed to integrated movement concepts
that radically challenge conventional wisdom
in sports science. POSE® is much more than
a running technique, we teach movement.

 The technology
Optimizing
your
natural
abilities
by
harnessing the benefits of correct bio-motor
patterns using evolutionary bio-mechanics.
 Less injury prone
85% of all runners are injured each year
(Dr. Karl B. Fields, ACSM). POSE® is the
only running technique in the world
scientifically proven to reduce knee impact
by 50%. POSE® reduces joint loads as well
as tendon loads. POSE® Research:

 Running with gravity
POSE® teaches a movement pattern that
reduces braking forces and increases
elasticity. Running with gravity improves
your endurance and energy balance.
Because of the natural ‘feel’ of POSE® it’s
become the method of choice for seasoned
marathoners and barefoot runners alike.
 The correct shoe for POSE® Running
In spite of annual innovations over the last
20 years in the running shoe sector there
has been no decrease in the injury rate of
runners
wearing
shoes
designed
for
cushioning and stability. Statistically running
has become one of the most dangerous
sports in the world. Reason being shoes that
reduce feeling and flexibility of the foot. Lack
of foundation strength prevents the body
from working as it should to reduce impact
and provide natural support.
Less is more with POSE®. All that is required
for efficient, fast and less injury prone
running are flexible flat shoes that allow for
natural toe and heel movement. This is
contrary to advice you may receive from
running shoe shops.
Understanding and
treating
the
true
cause
of
supination/pronation leads to a radically
different approach to running shoes which
have traditionally treated the effect, not the
cause of injuries. Being diagnosed as having
flat feet and prescribed orthotics nothing
sustainably helped until discovering POSE®.

“I’m really pleased we’ve found that hip
weakness. As you know, I knew something was
wrong but had no idea how to fix it. I feel like I
got exactly what I needed out of the session, I
am getting a sense of how much improvement
can be made by continuing with these sessions.”

If you’ve not heard about POSE® before be
prepared to challenge beliefs you currently
hold about health and fitness. As experts in
the field of human movement have taken to
POSE® they have had to unlearn much of
what they knew about isolated muscle based
theories in favor of a systems approach that
considers gravity, not muscles, as the
primary mover. This approach has taken
many years to evolve to a unified model for
teaching running. Of course muscle
conditioning and strength is important but
with POSE® it’s about quality of muscle
structure versus isolated quantity. Instead
of focusing on burning calories and using
exercise as an often painful means to an end
with a POSE® approach you will transform
your body shape with joyful natural
movement. Moving more because you love
the feeling while avoiding injury will keep
you in brilliant shape.
Muscle-Tendon Elasticity is directly related to
50% of an individual’s efficiency and yet
very few runners tap into it. Instead of antioxidant/joint supplements with POSE® you
will reduce the ageing effects of over
oxidizing exercise and improve joint
flexibility with correct movement. Naeem
Akram seeks not to convince but rather
share and apply what he has learnt and
experienced personally and with clients.
"I would not hesitate for one moment to
recommend Naeem as a running coach. It is
perfectly clear to me that he has some very
deep insights into running and an especially
deep understanding of the POSE technique."

“I cannot believe in my eight years of studying and
working in the industry it has taken me till now to come
across this. ……I guess like everyone, once being
introduced to this info it changes everything and the
coin drops.”

“What started as a last ditch attempt to overcome
chronic running injury has turned into a lifestyle
philosophy which will guide me for the rest of my life.
For this I have to thank Naeem Akram for his passion
and knowledge and willingness to learn.”
