Trade the Solar System
OBJECTIVE: You will be creating a trading card for each planet, the sun, and other
things in our Solar System. You may use these class materials: construction paper,
glue, tape, scissors, markers, crayons, map pencils, white paper, and index cards. If
you need any other materials, you will have to bring it (NO PAINT!) or work at
home.
It is due ______________________.
TRADING CARDS:
You will make 13 Solar System trading cards (8 planets (with moons) + the
sun + meteor + Galilean Moons + asteroid + comet). Each trading card must
include:
1) Picture and name on the front of the card
2) On back, answer these questions: How big is it? How many moons does
it have? How long is its REVOLUTION? How long is its ROTATION?
3) Neatness (coloring, writing, edges, use of lab, materials, etc.)
EACH TRADING CARD IS WORTH 7 POINTS each PLUS 9 points for turning
them in on time. You may make trading cards of other objects in the solar
system for extra bonus points (not star or black hole).
