Muscular Strength - The ability of the muscle to exert force during an activity. Ex.) Lifting weights
Muscular Endurance - The ability of the muscle to continue to perform without fatigue. Ex.) Walking,
dancing.

Energy Balance
BMI
Weight Status
Below 18.5
Underweight
18.5 – 24.9
Normal
25.0 – 29.9
Overweight
30.0 and Above
Obese
Body Mass Index (BMI) – Serves to examine body mass related to stature.
BMI = kg / m2
(Weight in lbs. / 2.2046) / [(Height in in. x 0.0254) x (Height in in. x 0.0254)]
Ex.) 6’2 176 lbs.
74 inches x 0.0254 = 1.8796 meters
176 lbs. / 2.2046 = 79.8 kilograms
79.8 / (1.8796 x 1.8796)
79.8 / 3.532
22.59
For example, here are the weight ranges, the corresponding BMI ranges, and the weight status categories for a sample height.
