Event Title:
Official unveiling of the Interpretative boards located on the tracks around
Aongatete Lodge and in the Forest by Mayor Ross Paterson followed by the
opportunity to peruse some of the signs at your leisure on a 800 meter walk
around the nature trail loop track
Aongatete Outdoor Education Centre and Aongatete Forest Restoration Trust
are working together to improve the environmental education focus at
Aongatete. These 29 interpretive panels is a start and covers the geology,
interesting aspects of the ecosystem, conservation activities and some Rongoa
properties of the surrounding Kaimai forest. The project has been funded by
grants from the Western Bay of Plenty, Lion Foundation and DOC

A Spring Walk in Aongatete Forest. This will
cover all the signs

Come for a walk in Aongatete Forest accompanied by Trust volunteers. Enjoy
the early spring bird song, the result 10 years of active pest control. Be the
first to view the newly installed Nature Trail signs which give a magnificent
interpretation of the bush and its inhabitants.
