Kit the Cat
Dan is a kid.
Dan sits at his desk.
Dan has a pet cat, Kit.
Kit the cat can spin and skip.
Dan can spin and skip.
Dan asks Kit,
"Can this kid Dan sit at his desk?"
Kit the cat sits at Dan's desk,
and Dan sits at his desk.
Dan pats Kit the cat. "Kit the cat
is kind," Dan insists.

Junior Scrabble
This game provides the words on the board to be built in order, letter by letter, by
the players. If you put down the last letter for the word, you collect the picture
card for the word.
Preparation: Laminate and cut out the board on the next page, the orange letter
tiles in the table below, and the picture cards. Place the letter tiles in a bag. Spread
the picture cards out on the table where you can see them as you play.
Play: Each player chooses 7 letter tiles out of the bag and places them in a row on
the table. On each player's turn, they have to put one letter tile down on the board
to either begin a new word or continue a word that has already been started (in
order). The stars are "wild" and can be used as any letter the player specifies. If
the player doesn't have a tile to put down, he has to take more from the bag until he
has one to put down.
Whoever puts down the last letter of the word reads the word aloud and collects
the picture card for the word. The game is over when someone has used up all their
tiles, then whoever has more picture cards – wins.
