A prime number has exactly two factors….itself and 1.
5 is a prime number. 5 and 1 are the only factors.
A composite number has more than two factors.
12 is a composite number.
12, 1, 2, 6, 3, 4 are all factors of 12.
1. Sort the number cards into the categories of
Prime or Composite.
2. Record the numbers in each category.
Challenge: Can you find another prime number?
