1º Trimestre

Unit 1:
- Grammar: Verb to be. Present Simple. Present Continuous Adverbs of frequency
(usually, often, etc) and other time expressions (at the moment, now).
- Vocabulary: Personality Adjectives (lazy, generous, etc.). Negative prefixes (un-, im-,
etc). Hobbies and interests.
- Functions: Giving an opinion. Expressing likes and dislikes.
- Writing: Dialogue giving an opinion, A personal profile.
 Unit 2:
- Grammar: Past Simple: Regular and Irregular verbs. Ago. Past Continuous. While and
when.
- Vocabulary: Sports and collocations (play/go/do+ sport, etc). Free time activities (chat
with a friend, etc)
- Functions: Talking about the past.
 Unit 3:
- Grammar:Countable and Uncountable Nouns. Some, any, much, many, a lot of, a few,
how much and how many. Articles (a/an, the).
- Vocabulary:Rural and Urban Landscapes (footpath, hedge, etc) Prepositions of
movement (across, through, etc) and of Place (behind, on the corner of, etc).
Compound Nouns (homework, weekend, etc). adjectives to describe places (clean,
noisy, ancient, etc).
- Functions:Giving Directions.
- Writing: A dialogue giving directions. A leaflet.
2º Trimestre
 Temas gramaticales incluidos en el Trimestre anterior.
 Unit 4:
- Grammar:Comparatives and Superlatives. (Not) as … as. Too and Enough.
 Vocabulary: Types of Films (animated, musical, etc). Adjectives to describe films (gripping,
violent, etc.) Adjectives ending in -ed and –ing (annoyed/annoying, etc).
 Unit 5:
- Grammar:Present perfect Simple contrasted with Simple Past. Been and Gone. For and
Since. How long..?Just, never, ever, already and yet.
Vocabulary:Shops (butcher’s, newsagent’s, etc). Verbs for shopping and money
(borrow, lend, etc.). In a shop (changing rooms, till, etc)
- Functions: Buying clothes.
Unit 6:
- Grammar: The Future: will and going to. Zero conditional. Modal Verbs of Possibility:
May, Might and Could.


Vocabulary: Electronic Devices (digital radio, games console, etc). Phrasal Verbs (turn
on, put on, etc). Places (by the lifts, etc.)
Functions: Arranging to meet.
Writing: A dialogue to arrange to meet.Writing a letter of complaint.

3º Trimestre
 Temas gramaticales incluidos en el Trimestre anterior.
 Unit 7:
- Grammar: Modal Verbs of Necessity, Obligation and Prohibition: Must, Mustn’t, Need
to, Needn’t. First Conditional.
- Vocabulary: Gestures (bow, wink, etc). Phrasal Verbs (stand up, turn over, etc). Social
activities (skateboarding, have a party, etc.)
- Functions: Making Invitations.
 Writing: A dialogue inviting a friend to an event. Accepting and declining
 Unit 8:
- Grammar: Second Conditional.
- Vocabulary: Global Issues (the arms trade, war, etc), Word formation (-ation, -ness,
etc).
- Functions: Discussing a problem. Giving advice.
- Talking about natural disasters/ ecological news or events.
- Writing: Essay about improving life in my country (ecology)
 Unit 9:
- Grammar: Past Perfect. Reported Speech (statements).
- Vocabulary: Crime (burglar, vandals, joyrider, etc), Word formation (-ian, -er, etc).
- Reporting a theft and describing what was stolen.
- Writing: email
 Unit 10:
- Grammar: the passive (present and past simple), the passive (present perfect and
future)
- Vocabulary: books, text, novels (back cover, title, chapter, lot, sequel, etc)
- Describing the different stages of a process.
- Writing: Essay (more practice)
