What is Your Experiment?
The Scientific Method Project
Students will develop an experiment that will require them
to use the 7 steps of the Scientific Method.
Guidelines:
Name & Period MUST be on the project!
1.
Your project must be a POSTER with visual data such as:
a chart, graph, pictures (drawn or printed out)etc. showing how you
organized your experiment.
2.
You must include all 7 Scientific Method Steps, label each step, and
explain that step for your specific experiment. The steps should be
included on your visual aide. (see “Sunnyside Up or Splat” for an
example of steps):
1. Identify & State the Problem
2. Gather Information

3. State Hypothesis

4. Design Experiment
5. Make Observation and record data

6. Organize & Analyze data
7. State Conclusion

Do not use the ideas we demonstrated in class (like the egg ).
4.
Be creative when developing your idea. Your idea must be testable
and NOT opinion based.
Good example: Which battery last longer – testable
Bad example: Which soda taste better - opinion
5.
This project will count as a test/project grade!!
Project due date: Wednesday, October 15th
