The objective of this assignment is to study a species of plant to understand
its anatomy, growth and reproduction cycle, habitat, nutritional needs,
function and application. Choose one plant from the following list of plants
and answer the questions below.

Your job is to prepare a comprehensive report that will answer ALL of the
following:
1. What is the classification of the plant species? (1)
2. What major plant group does this plant belong to? (2)
3. What does the plant look like? Provide a labeled diagram of the cross
section of this plant. Include its roots, stem, leaves and/or flower. (8)
4. What sort of tissue does this plant have in the root? In the stem? In
the leaves? Flower? How does the tissue benefit the plant in terms of
surviving its environment? (8)
5. Describe the ecosystem this plant would be found in. How is this plant
most suited in the environment it is found in? (8)
6. Which organisms are dependent on this species for survival? (2)
7. What sort of nutrients does this plant need? Include macro and micro
nutrients. (2)
8. Explain the growth cycle and reproductive cycle of this plant (ie. What
is the lifecycle?). Describe each step and include a diagram of the
lifecycle. (4)
9. What is the primary use of this plant? Agricultural? Medicinal? Food?
Describe the industry this plant is most commonly used for and how it
is used to aid this industry. (4)
10. Include 3 interesting facts about this plant. (3)

should be done in text, reference list should also be included. Ensure you
have used at least 2-3 sources. Use MLA or APA formatting.
