The Human Body through Geometry
DUE Monday NOVEMBER 14th, 2011
For the 2nd marking period task, you will create a model of the human body using
geometric shapes for the body’s organs.
Your project must include the following:
1) A list of FIVE organs that you have learned about in Living Environment (You
must choose FIVE different organs).
2) For each organ, you must include at least one paragraph (no less than EIGHT
sentences) explaining the function and location of the organ.
3) The organ must represent by a geometric shape that you have learned in
Geometry. YOU MAY NOT USE ANY SHAPE MORE THAN ONCE.
4) For each shape, you must identify the name of the shape and determine the sum
of its interior angles as well as the sum of its exterior angles.
5) You must also identify if each shape you use is either convex or concave and
explain your choice in at least ONE complete sentence.
The final project should be five pages. Each page should contain its own organ
description and shape description.
