ATTENTION EINSTEIN MEDICAL STUDENTS An opportunity to earn some extra money by helping Montefiore Medical Center implement its new EMR As some of you may know, Montefiore Medical Center is replacing its existing electronic medical record systems with Epic, commencing on April 10th, 2015. Epic is considered the premiere enterprise EMR system currently installed at many large academic medical centers such as Mt Sinai, NYU, Cleveland Clinic, Kaiser Permanente, UCSF, University of Pennsylvania and many others. We are looking for Einstein students who can assist with uploading patients’ Medication and Allergy records from our current ambulatory system into Epic. FAQs 1- What is the compensation for this work? a. We will pay $3.60 per patient you preload. We expect a user can pre-load between 5 and 8 patients per hour allowing you to earn between $18 and $29 per hour based upon productivity. 2- What does this “pre-load” work entail? a. A list of patients will be provided to the pre-load user several weeks ahead of the patients’ scheduled appointment. In Epic, the current medications and allergies will display in a pre-confirmed state. Records that Epic can match are uploaded with a single click. For records that do not match, the pre-load user searches for the matching term and uploads. 3- What is the expected time commitment? a. Pre-load users can sign up for as little as 5 up to 20 hours commitment per week. You would use your own computer and work on your own schedule. Once a pre-load user signs up for a block of patients, they will have 3 weeks to complete the task. 4- What is the duration of effort? a. We will be pre-loading from mid-March 2015 through the end of this year. 5- Apart from the compensation, what are the other advantages of participating? a. Getting experience using the Epic EMR. b. Exposure to the kinds of medications that our patients are prescribed. c. Helping the medical center successfully implement Epic.
