21. Atmosphere – weather
Processes taking place within atmosphere change its conditions continuously. Weather represents
actual conditions of atmosphere in certain locality (place).
Basic meteorological factors
• solar radiation
• air temperature
• air pressure
• air humidity
• evaporation levels
• clouds
• precipitation
• height of snow cover
• direction and speed of wind
Weather is studied by meteorology. Weather is never static, always changing. Weather is stable only
for several days depending upon many factors, e.g. air pressure, prevailing winds, air humidity, etc.
Weather is displayed on synoptic maps.
