Program Efforts:
MDCH HIV/AIDS Prevention and Intervention Section (HAPIS) has created an ongoing collaboration with the Michigan Department of Corrections in an effort to reduce the transmission of HIV/STD infection among incarcerated individuals.
MDCH HAPIS supports prisoners by providing health advocacy services for inmates, supporting and monitoring an
HIV/STD Peer-education program, and providing Partner Services to HIV-infected clients.
