Exam Format:
Similar to Exams 1 and 2, there will be a combination of
- multiple choice questions some aimed at maps or diagrams;
- three short topical essays where you will illustrate your understanding of the
concepts of regions, landscapes, physical processes and/or basic human geography.
Be able to discuss: landscape development in each of the regions covered; the importance and use of water; the relationship of terrain to cultural development; influence of
historical circumstances on landscape; the role of the transcontinental railroad in the settling of the West; major physical processes and their influence on landscape and land use;
and the role of people’s perception of an area and the resultant land use.
