Cambodian National Statistical System The Cambodian national statistical system is a decentralize system which covers all designated official statistics and statistical units within ministries and government institutions. In addition to the National Institute of Statistics (NIS), each ministry and other government institution have a statistics unit responsible for producing statistics. Various ministries and other institutions collect and produce statistics as part of their work. ESCAP RPES Project In 2015, the NIS requested ESCAP to support the strengthening economic statistics production and dissemination in Cambodia, and agreed to implement a Project which have the following Objectives: 1. Provide diagnostics on the state of the institutional and organizational setting, statistical infrastructure for economic statistics; 2. Provide diagnostics on economic statistics production and dissemination processes of the national statistical system with a focus on the quality of resulting statistical outputs; 3. Provide recommendations and identify priorities for improving economic statistics production and dissemination; and 4.
