Network Engineers design, install, maintain and
support communication networks, as well as provide
maximum performance and availability for their users.
They understand network configuration, cloud, network
administration and monitoring tools, and are able to give
technical advice and guidance.
BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT,
is the only Trailblazer Apprenticeship
assessment body dedicated solely
to the IT and digital industries.
The Network Engineer standard has been developed for
employers with IT job roles such as:
• Network Technician
• Network Engineer
• Systems Engineer
• Network Administrator
Apprenticeship level: 4
Duration: 2 years
Entry requirements: Employers will set their own
selection criteria and this is likely to include:
