Ms. Kimberley Miner is a Ph.D. student, National Science Foundation Fellow, and Fulbright
Scholar, studying climate change risk management at the University of Maine. She works to be a
knowledgeable broker between scientists and policy makers, developing robust models and
communication tools that can be applied broadly. Ms. Miner is trained as a first responder and
has worked at the Office of Emergency Management in New York City, as well as LamontDoherty Earth Observatory at Columbia University.
Ms. Miner holds an M.P.A. in Environmental Science and Policy from Columbia University, and
she received her B.A. in Environmental Science and Ecology from the University of California at
Santa Cruz. She is currently researching the implications of legacy pollutants in glacial melt
water.
