GPA: 4.00 Relevant Coursework: ● Software Architecture and Design ● Statistics and Probability I ● Software Engineering of Internet Applications ● Geometry of Surfaces RESEARCH EXPERIENCES Animation and Deformation of Vector Graphics Jovan Popović and Danny Kaufman—Adobe, Seattle, WA ● Worked as a summer intern for Adobe’s Creative Technology Labs. ● (More details coming soon…) Integrating Quadtrees into the Servo Browser Engine Patrick Walton—Mozilla, Mountain View, CA ● Developed an implementation of scalable tiled graphics using layered quadtrees. ● Integrated this work into Servo, an experimental web browser engine. ● Programmed in Rust, a safe, concurrent language in development at Mozilla. ● Delivered an oral presentation to Mozilla staff summarizing my work. JuneSeptember 2015 JuneAugust 2013 Contextual Visualization August 2012May 2013 Bob Geitz—Oberlin College, Oberlin, OH ● Constructed a program that displayed water and electricity usage in Oberlin dormitories over time using interactive, textured graphs created using 3D modeling software (Maya and Unity3D). ● Conducted a user study to determine what effect, if any, using relevant texturing patterns had on the speed at which users could interpret and process the data, as compared to a color key. ● Completed as a component of the honors program at Oberlin College. ● Wrote a final report and delivered a final presentation to the computer science department. Dynamic Network Visualization JuneJuly 2012 Aidong Lu—University of North Carolina Charlotte, Charlotte, NC ● Created a portable tool for visualizing dynamic networks that elucidated both major and subtle patterns within the data. ● Completed as part of the Research Experiences for Undergraduates program, where I worked in the Visualization Department. ● Constructed using JavaScript and the D3 visualization library. ● Designed and presented a poster for an undergraduate research symposium at UNCC, and delivered a final presentation to the computer science department. Modeling Cancer Cell Growth and Mutation JuneAugust 2011 Kyle Furge—Van Andel Research Institute, Grand Rapids, MI ● Built a computational model of growing and mutating cancer cells. ● Showed a detectable difference between genetic and epigenetic drugdefense mechanisms used by cancer cells. ● Developed a method for determining which mechanism is causing drug resistance in vitro. ● Programmed using NetLogo. ● Delivered a final presentation summarizing my work to the faculty at VARI. TEACHING Teaching Assistant August 2013Present Steve Marschner, Doug James, Daisy Fan, and Kavita Bala—Cornell University, Ithaca, NY ● Conducted lectures, designed exam and assignment questions, held office hours, and graded student work. ● Performed these duties for Introduction to Computer Graphics, Physically Based Animation, and Introduction to Computing Using MATLAB classes.
