VII System Services
 Probe Data Distribution
Distribute vehicle generated probe data to
subscribing network users
 Advisory Message Distribution
Distribute geographically-focused advisory
messages to passing vehicles
 Map Element Distribution
Distribute local intersection and road section maps
to passing vehicles is support of safety
applications.
 Position Correction Distribution
Distribute position correction information to
passing vehicles in support of safety applications.
 Roadside Infrastructure Support
– Interface with signal controllers for distribution of
signal phase and timing information to passing
vehicles in support of safety applications.
– Interface with roadside sensors to forward
information to network user or to distribute
advisory messages to passing vehicles.
– Interface with roadside transaction processing
systems.
 Communications
Transportation of data between a vehicle and
a network user, optionally supporting
preservation of communication session as
vehicle move between RSEs.
 RSE Information Lookup
Provide RSE information, such as location or
current service offerings to network users.
 Management
Monitoring, configuration and control using
network management systems and services.
 Security
Provides for managed security controls and
mechanisms.
 Positioning
Utilizes multiple sources to develop accurate
vehicle positioning
 System Time
Utilizes GPS (Stratum-1) timing source for
system components facilitating
synchronization.
