NetTool - What’s New with NetTool?
• New PRO Model
– Voice over IP Compatibility, what does that mean?
– Standard Ethernet require pairs 1,2 and 3,6 for data
transmit/receive
– Voice over IP and Powered Ethernet Devices also require
power and signaling data to go over pairs 4,5 and 7,8
– New NetTool hardware (Blue cases) pass power, data and
call signals through on all 8 pins
• Previously only pairs 1,2 and 3,6 were passed through
• Could cause problems on networks that support VoIP
• Our customers can now troubleshoot their Ethernet
connectivity problems in VoIP environments without
affecting downstream VoIP devices.
