Unit Profile - 5C Nurse Manager Nurse Supervisor Clinical Nurse Specialist Educational Nurse Coordinator Brief Description of the Unit Common Medications (Categories of Drugs) Sarah Lane Ellen Deleruyelle Mary Lynn Parker Denise Zebley 763-6848/ Pager 33021 615-6625/ Pager 35047 936-8352 / Pager 2325 936-0130/ Pager 75342 5C is a 32-bed surgical unit consisting of abdominal organ transplant recipients (STX) and GI surgical services (SGW). Common surgical procedures include kidney, pancreas, and liver transplantation; donor nephrectomies, gastric, colon, and liver resections; pancreatic surgery and hernia repairs. Specialty care is also provided to Minimally Invasive Surgery (SGB) patients undergoing surgical weight loss procedures such as gastric bypass, sleeve, or laparoscopic banding. A multidisciplinary approach is utilized in the collaborative management of patient centered care. A team of physicians, physician assistants/nurse practitioners, registered nurses, practice management coordinators, dietitians, and other support services are involved in the management of patients and provision of patient care. 1.
