THE INTERVENOR, TRANSCANADA ENERGY LTD., RESPECTFULLY
SUBMITS THE FOLLOWING:
1.
TransCanada Energy Ltd. (“TCE”), is a leading North American energy company,
focused on power generation, producing electricity for hundreds of thousands of
businesses, institutions and households throughout Canada and the United States;
2.
TCE owns and controls power plants in Canada and the United States and is the
largest unit holder of TransCanada Power, L.P., a publicly held limited
partnership;
3.
TCE is also a significant developer of power generation projects in Canada and
the United States, promoting several projects in various stages of development;
4.
TCE owns and operates a 507 megawatt (MW) cogeneration plant in the
Bécancour Industrial Park, located within the city limits of Bécancour
(“Bécancour power plant”);
5.
The Bécancour power plant is located within the Applicant’s exclusive franchise
and is one of the Applicant’s largest industrial customers. The cost of
transportation arrangements on the Applicant’s distribution system has significant
impacts on the business of the Bécancour power plant;

The intervention of TCE is made in order to ascertain and protect its rights and
interests before the Régie de l’énergie with respect to the decision to be rendered
in this instance, since the decision may impact on the cost of gas distribution
service paid by TCE for distribution services at the Bécancour power plant;

TCE requests that all documents and communications relating to this submission

WHEREFORE, THE INTERVENOR, TRANSCANADA ENERGY LTD.,
REQUESTS THE RÉGIE DE L’ÉNERGIE TO:
AUTHORIZE TransCanada Energy Ltd. to intervene in the present proceeding and
present written or verbal evidence, including expert evidence, as the case may be, and
make representations before the Régie de l’énergie;
