Job description: Trade Promotion and Information Officer
The Trade Promotion and Information Officer will be working with promotion of trade
and economic relations between Sweden and Uganda and also the Embassy’s
communication and information needs. The Officer will be working in the political and
economic section. The exact content of the post will depend on the profile of the
successful applicant. Main duties include:




Planning, implementation and follow up of events and activities that promote
trade and investments between Uganda and Sweden;
Guidance to Swedish businesses on Ugandan laws, rules and practices for starting
and running businesses, how to trade with and invest in Uganda;
Planning, implementation and follow up of activities for strengthening the image
of Sweden, Swedish core values, ideas and culture in Uganda, and for inquiries
about Sweden in Uganda;
Informing about activities and events that the Embassy is engaged in through
local media, the Embassy webpage and social media.
Specific competences:



Documented advanced academic degree in business administration, economics,
public relations, political science or related field of study;
At least five years of relevant experience from work with the private sector in
Uganda, either from a business perspective or from organisation/s working with
private sector related issues;
Earlier experience of work with information and/or communication, including
social media.
General competences:






Sound analytical capacity;
Excellent written and oral communication skills;
Excellent command of English;
Good interpersonal skills and experience of working in a multicultural
environment;
Ability to adhere to rules and regulations of the Embassy of Sweden;
Motivation to promote Swedish policies and values.
Merits/added advantages:


Experience from the private sector in East Africa or Sweden;
Knowledge about Sweden.
