My favourite band






These are the singers from
band Elán (Jano Baláž, Jožo
Ráž a Vašo Patejdl)
Band was formed at the
beginning of the 70s
At the beginning band played
in various clubs
Their first concert was in 1976
in Sweden Malmo
The first composer of the Elán
was Boris Filan
Boris Filan wanted to leave the
band when Jožo Ráž rewrote
music songs – Eight Continent,
but he didn‘t do it.



The first LP was issued in 1981 and was called „ The
Eight Continent “
In early 1982 came a new LP record „ We aren‘t bad“
Album contents of many good songs, for example:

In 1984 the band won the price „The Gold Nightingale“
In 1996 the band had several concerts in Slovakia and
Czech Republic




In 1999 came new song „Water keeps me afloat“
In 1999 Jožo Ráž had a motorcycle accident
Motorcycle accident marked the band for the next two
years
Two years after the accident, band continued on tour in:

AUSTRALIA
SLOVAKIA
Songs of Elán band we can hear in several movies, for
example in the famous movie „The fountain for Suzanne
1, 2, 3“


accident in 2002 – 2003:

Elan operating in Slovakia and sometimes in the
Czech Republic
On 21 September 2007 band sold out the New
York΄s Canegie Hall.
