Settled in Canaan on the Mediterranean Sea and
moved to Egypt.
Egyptian king made Israelites slaves fearing they
would take over the country
After a series of plagues, the Egyptian king
agreed to free the Israelites and Moses led them
out of Egypt but had to leave in a hurry.
Wandered through the desert for many years
trying to return to Canaan.
• Reached a mountain where Moses received the Ten
Commandments.
• Reached Canaan after forty years of wandering
where they settled down and became know as the
Israelites.
