Asteroids, Comets and Meteoroids
• Asteroids – small, irregularly shaped,
planetlike objects
– found in asteroid belt b/w Mars and Jupiter
• Comets – made of icy dust particles and
frozen gases (bright balls w/ feathery tails)
• Meteoroids – pieces of space debris and
chunks of iron and rock
– called meteorites if collide with Earth
Water, Land, and Air
• 70% of Earth’s surface is water and 30%
is land

plateaus, and plains
