Academies help students belong to a group
Academies direct students toward career
options
Academies are supportive environments
within the large high school
Students declare an academy choice for their
sophomore year and may change one time.
Academies are elective driven
The Academies begin for the incoming 9th graders of
2013-14
The student selects an academy in March
Their diploma requires they include a choice of
2 Foreign languages OR
2 career tech classes OR
2 fine art classes
Students receive a completer certificate and pin if
they complete three of any of the above.( not
require for graduation but great for applications).
9TH grade students must complete PLAN OF STUDY
before being placed in grade 10.
