Kursk- the City of
Military Glory.

Kursk was occupied by fascist troops at the
beginning of October, 1941.
Within two years Kursk region was the arena of
active military operations.

On July 12, 1943 near the village of
Prokhorovka not far from Kursk, one of the
greatest battles of the Great Patriotic War –
tank fight on the Kursk arch -began.
It was the largest tank battle of World War II.
More than 1200 tanks and self-propelled tools
From both sides took part in it.
"Tigers" are going to attack
About 400 German tanks were lost and more
than 10 thousand fasists werekilled near
Prokhorovka.

After the fight near Kursk there started a
change in World War II. Kursk fight dispelled
the myth about invincibility of the fascist army.
The Soviet army finally took the offensive.
On February 8, 1943 the Soviet Army liberated
Kursk.
