WD1008
8-channel Gigabit Ethernet
Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexer
Overview
The CentreComWD1008 Wave Division Multiplexer simplifies network
design and management by increasing the bandwidth capacity of your legacy
fiber optic backbone network. The device multiplexes up to eight 1000Base
Gigabit Ethernet-compliant inputs onto two multiplexing fiber optic ports.

Overview (Continue)
A multiplexer significantly increases the efficiency of your existing fiber optic
backbone network because it uses more of the fiber’s latent bandwidth. It does this
by combining multiple data streams onto one fiber optic cable

Basic Operation
The unit is logically divided into East side and West side with Channel 1 - 4
feeding into the West Line port and 5 - 8 to East line port. When using the
units, East side is always connected to the West side of the next device with
Channel 5 of the East side passing traffic to the conjugate channel of Channel
1 on the West side.
