The Present Perfect Tense
The Present Perfect Tense is a
frequently used verb tense in English.
An example:
I have finished my work.
“Have finished” is an example of the
Present Perfect.
The Past Participle
The Present Perfect Tense is made up
of two parts: have/has + Past Participle.
Look at the example again:
I have finished my work.
In this example, “finished” is a Past
Participle. It is part of the Present
Perfect construction.
The Past Participle
The Past Participle is one of the three
principal parts of a verb. The other two
are the Present form and the Past
Simple form.
The Past Participle of regular verbs is
the same as their Past Simple form:

The Past Participle
For irregular verbs, the Past Participle
must be memorized because is not
always the same at the Past Simple.
