second one emphasizes that you will change and do something else.

Negatives = Put NOT after the first helping verb

• Same rules
– Negatives = put not after first helping verb (BE)
– Yes/No = Move the first helping verb (BE) in front
of the subject
– WH = Make a yes/no question and change the
answer to the WH-word, then put the Wh-word in
front of the sentence.

• This modal has a past form

seven years old.

Let’s / Why don’t we…?
• Let’s = we should
– (You and me) = we should BASE FORM
• Why don’t we = we should
– Why don’t I/you/they… ? I/you/they should
– Why doesn’t she…? She should
• This idiom can even be used with BE
– We aren’t nice.
– Why aren’t we nice? Because we are orphans.
– Why don’t we be nice? You’re right. We should be nice.
