GDS Gaming Device Standards Event, Data, Location GDS Committee 2002 Accomplishments: April – Negotiations with Cypress Semiconductor concluded. USB development kits were made freely available to GSA member companies. July – Software frameworks for the Cypress USB development kits were released. August – Beta device drivers for Microsoft WindowsTM Operating Systems were released. September – Several USB device prototypes were demonstrated. November – Phase I and II deliverables defined. December – The GDS committee was partitioned into device-focused workgroups. GDS Committee 2003 Accomplishments/Milestones: Feb – Relationship between USB-IF and GDS standards movement established. April – Release of Phase I draft specification. May – US regulatory presentation delivered at Biloxi conference. July – Release of Phase I beta test tools and cross platform capable device driver/API. September – Release of Phase I final specification, test tools and driver/API. September – Demonstration of Phase I USB devices at G2E. November – Release of Phase II draft specification.
