Chapter 4: Congruent Triangles Lesson 4-3: Triangle Congruence by ASA and AAS Goal: Prove two triangles are congruent by using the ASA Postulate and the AAS Theorem. Congruent Polygons: Congruent figures have the same size and shape. Congruent polygons have congruent corresponding parts – their matching sides and angles. When we name congruent polygons, we always list the corresponding vertices in the same order. Triangle Congruence: Postulate 4-3 Angle-Side-Angle Postulate: If two angles and the included side of one triangle are congruent to two angles and the included side of another triangle, then the two triangles are congruent. Triangle Congruence: Theorem 4-2 Angle-Angle-Side Theorem: If two angles and a nonincluded side of one triangle are congruent to two angles and the corresponding non-included side of another triangle, then the two triangles are congruent. Assignments and Note: CW: Practice 4-3. HW 4-3: #3-27 (every 3rd), 34. Quiz on Thursday.
