Promotion: -Billboards along interstates -Interaction on social media Cultural Factors • Do not have any beef on the menu because it is against Hindu religion to eat it. • Do not offer alcohol to Muslims. • Ask your guest “What they would like to drink” NOT “ Would you like ______ to drink”. • Have a smoking and non-smoking section of your restaurant available for your guest to sit at. • Do a buffet style rather than “sit-down” due to the uncertainty of the time of arrival of your guest. • Businesses cards are the key to success for businesses in India, so always be prepared with enough cards to hand out. Taboos • Saying “Thank you” after a meal is considered inappropriate.
