Țările cu productivitatea cea mai mare au și cele mai
mici ritmuri de creștere economică
• Va fi convergență, dacă nu se fac greșeli majore
• Pe termen lung putem avea încredere că legea regresiei către media
care acționează în natură va funcționa. Dar e vorba de o lungă
perioadă de timp
• Creșterea rapidă din perioada anilor 50 și 70 din SUA este doar o
anomalie, care a compensat scăderea din anii 30
• Decizia de adoptare a euro trebuie să fie legată de productivitate
• Productivitatea va converge odată cu progresul tehnologic, cu
promovarea educației și cu producția de masă
