1. (35 points) Analyze the circuit shown to the right and
determine the following:
a. ICQ and VCEQ

2. (35 pts) Determine
overall Av, Ai and Ap
for the two-stage
amplifier shown to the
right, given
VBE1=VBE2=VBE=0.7V
and β1=β2=β=100.
3. (30 pts) Analyze the circuit shown to the right and
determine the following when R1=R2=10kΩ,
RE=600Ω, RL=300Ω, VCC=VEE=10V, β=300 and
VBE=0.6V.
a. ICQ and VCEQ
b. Maximum undistorted symmetrical output
voltage swing
c. dc power needed
d. Maximum power output (ac undistorted)
Extra Credit (30 points maximum): Determine the variation of IC for a CE amplifier which is
designed using the following criteria: AV = -10V/V, RL = 4kΩ, Rin=5kΩ, VCC = 10V and VBE =
0.7V and ICBO = 0.001µA at 25oC. The temperature varies between +25oC and +85oC and β
varies between 100 and 300. Assume all capacitors infinite and ideal.
